About me

Hi, I'm Keith, passionate mental health nurse and clinical supervisor. Experience spanning clinical, educational, research and leadership across general and mental health nursing. Fell in love with clinical supervision when commencing in mental health.

I enjoy the privilege of being able to provide clinical supervision, and the amazing learning and growth that can be tapped into within the reflective space that clinical supervision faciliates.

My experience

My clinical experience is primarily within the Child and Youth Mental Health space.

Various roles from ANUM to Clinical Nurse Specialist.

I pivoted towards education, and have progressed into leadership roles within this space.

My current role/work

Currently working in a leadership role, responsible for a high-performing education team at a large metropolitan area mental health service. This role encompasses leading a team of nursing educators responsible for training and development of both our novice and broader mental health workforce.

An expectation of this role is the provision of clinical supervision. I currently enjoy providing clinical supervision to multiple nurses across both inpatient and community.

I also train into our Clinical Supervision training (preparing future clinical supervisors).

My training

Particpated in several clinical supervision courses, including Role Development Model training via Clinical Supervision Consultancy.

My approach to supervision

I am a strong advocate for clinical supervision, having experienced the benefits of both group and individual clinical supervision as a supervisee. I continue to prioritise my own regular clinical supervision.

Rather than solely practice one particular model - I highly value the safe and trusting reflective space which clinical supervision provides. This, in turn, encourages professional development and growth.

I adopt a curious mindset, and hold the firm belief that the supervisee is the expert in their practice, and that the safe/trusting supervision relationship allows the opportunity for this expertise to be explored.
