This training will cover the following areas: - Overview of suicide prevalence and risk factors for autistic people - An introduction to suicide risk assessment tools adapted for this population. - Clinical expertise and case examples will be incorporated in the training to support participants to develop their knowledge about how to assess and respond to suicidality in autistic youth. - Lived and living experience perspectives on experiencing suicidality as an autistic person and seeking care will be shared.

Please note: Students of this course will be required to complete our related online CPD modules (via education.anmfvic.asn.au) prior to this practical workshop: 1. Med safe: Principles of medication safety (1.5 hours) 2. Med safe: A quick revision of medication calculations (0.5 hours)

Join us for a practical, interactive 2-day face-to-face training on Motivational Interviewing (MI)— a collaborative, person-centred approach designed to strengthen an individual's motivation for and commitment to change. Ideal for clinicians working in the mental health and or AOD sector this 2 day workshop will cover the core principles and skills of MI, with a focus on clients presenting with co-occurring disorders. Whether you’re new to MI or looking to build confidence in applying it to your practice, this training offers a supportive space to learn, practice, and connect with others.

November is Trans Month and Men’s Health Month. To highlight this intersection, Thorne Harbour Health and Transgender Victoria are hosting a panel of trans masc and non-binary community leaders to explore the challenges and triumphs of healthy masculinity.

This interactive event will invite attendees to imagine what a truly intersectional mental health and wellbeing system would look like, and how we can move from vision to implementation.

This one-day workshop will focus on how we can provide more effective support for young people with co-occurring speech, language and communication needs and mental health challenges. This workshop will be helpful for a broad range of practitioners and lived experience workforces.

The ‘Consortium Connect’ event brought together key leaders from research, policy, and practice to advance mental health reform in Victoria. This included the Collaborative Centre’s Adult and Older Adult Best Practice Consortium Partners, led by The University of Melbourne and Royal Melbourne Hospital, with a network of 20 metropolitan, regional and rural health services, community organisations and research institutions.
